My Minimalism Philosophy

Having an unfussy home sounds amazing. But when you look at those stark, minimalist images, it doesn’t really sit right. At least, it didn’t for me! Rather, it filled me with guilt and dread that I needed to get rid of practically everything and live with just seven shirts and two kitchen spoons.

Do you ever feel like you want to declutter, but you also want to keep those things that make your life easier? Like oh, the kids’ toys, and those fun holiday sweaters that you only wear once a year? And does the whole idea of having nothing on any surface with all of these harsh rules gives you more anxiety than the actual clutter does?

Momma, It’s NORMAL to want to have less… while still LOVING to shop! And you don’t need to burn the house down to “start fresh” with all that stuff you have. It’s time for a new way!

It’s Time for Simple-ism!

Okay, I just made that word up. But I want to open your eyes to a new way. I too had found myself yearning for a minimalist life, when I realized that I am NOT actually a minimalist! I like to shop, go to Target, and buy candles and throw pillows. But what I AM is someone who wants to live SIMPLY; and that is very different from minimalism.

Now, I’ve infused our lives with what I love about minimalism, and taken out what I don’t.

Our home isn’t fussy, we don’t buy a lot of extra “stuff”, and we can find things easily. This simpler way of living is not dictated by steadfast rules, donating everything you own, and starting with a blank slate. Rather, it’s a softer and more sustainable approach to simplicity.

Simple Living Is Flexible

You want a rich life of simplicity, beauty, and ease, and you want your home to reflect that - without having to go through every item in your home first. I’m here to let you know that you don’t have to do that!

Simple living is a way of showing up, a posture of your heart, towards your life and your home. It prioritizes what’s important to YOU, not a rule of how many kitchen appliances you can have. By taking a personal approach to simple living, it becomes a process that you welcome and leads you down a straightforward path to creating a home you want to be in.

We all know that “simple” doesn’t mean “easy” - but it can be! The solution is to set up the scaffolding of your life to support what is important to you and in your home. This framework will guide your decisions so they are easy, and your home is uncluttered, organized, beautiful, and is a place that you love living in again.

Find Your Framework

Creating this framework and doing some hard work in the beginning to declutter is so worth it! It really is like magic; everything becomes effortless! You go from struggling, being overwhelmed, and feeling just STUFFED to the brim in your home and brain… to feeling a surprising sense of ease.

Over the next few months, I’m going to be helping you learn to live more simply, and to find your framework for the life you are imagining. We will break it down into pieces, and have fun at the same time!

SO STAY TUNED!

So let me know - what does “simple living” mean to you?
