Vegan Chocolate Donuts 🍩
Happy Valentines Day!!
I saw this recipe yesterday on "Giada at Home" and HAAADDDD to make them for LOVE DAY!
These are super simple to make and I hope you ❤️ them
Here is what you need:
- Nonstick cooking spray
- 1 TBSP ground flax
- 1/2 cup almond milk
- 1/4 cup grape seed oil (or canola will work just fine)
- 1/3 cup agave
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1 cup cake flour
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp sea salt
- 1/3 cup mini vegan chocolate chips
Chocolate glaze:
- 1/2 cup mini vegan chocolate chips
- 1 TBSP grape seed or canola oil
- Sprinkles! For decorating
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
- Spray donut pan with non stick spray
- In a smallbowl combine the ground flax with 2 TBPS of water and let it stand for 2 minutes to thicken
- Add all wet ingredients and whisk to combine
- In another bowl combine all the dry ingredients and stir together
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until well combined
- Stir the chocolate chips in with a spatula
- Use a small cookie scoop or spoon and drop 2-3 heaping TBSP of better into each donut fold, filling about 2/3rds full
- bake the donuts until puffed up (about 10-12 min)
For the Chocolate Glaze:
- Melt the chocolate chips in the microwave in 30 second intervals or over a double broiler
- Stir in the oil until the chocolate is smooth
- Dip each donut, top side down into the glaze; allow excess to drip off, then decorate with sprinkles!
- Chill the donuts in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to allow the glaze to set
