The strange thing I did on trash day
Hey Mama! ๐
Happy Saturday! I hope this email finds you well and ready for a dose of quick decluttering inspiration. ๐
Let's jump right in because I know you're curious about my unusual email subject line...
On Tuesday, I felt an overwhelming urge to declutter our home. It was trash day, so I decided to take action. I set a timer for a mere 20 minutes and set an ambitious goal for myself โ to say goodbye to a whopping 100 items! Can you believe it?"
Iโm calling in my โTrash day Purgeโ
It might sound crazy, but trust me, it's entirely achievable, and the results are nothing short of amazing!
Here's what I did:
Made Quick Decisions: I picked easy to say goodbye to stuff that didn't require much thought. Things like trash, old artwork, expired food, broken toys, empty toiletry containersโฆ
Held No Attachment: I resisted the urge to dwell on sentimental items. This short burst of decluttering isn't the time for deep sentimentality-there's another time and place for that but this wasn't it! Keep it breezy.
Set Up For Success: As I decluttered, I kept a trash bag and a donation box handy. Everything that I decided to part with immediately went into one of these containers. No second-guessing allowed!
The Countdown: It's incredible how motivating it can be to watch the count go up โ 10 items, 20 items, 50 items, and so on. It became such a fun challenge.
By the end of my 20 minutes, I had cleared out 100 things from my home. It turned my whole day around! I felt lighter and had an immense sense of accomplishment!
So, why not give it a shot? The next time you have 20 minutes to spare, set that timer and see how many things you can bid farewell to. You'll be amazed at the impact it can have on your home and your sense of well-being.
